- When a study conducted by Boston College set out to find the greatest aspiration of individuals that had a net-worth of $25 million or more, they were surprised that a majority of individuals answered, " Their greatest aspiration in life was to be a good parent" (Novotney, 2012).
- Herzog found that individuals who practiced volunteer work had higher physical and mental health because of the sense of accomplishment they gain from their work. (Herzog et al., 1998).
- Individuals that volunteer feel more socially connected and significantly lessen their risk of developing depression (Watson, 2015).
